Do accountants charge when they are consulted? Like, when I have to ask them about books or anything related to my freelance business, etc.
From my experience, no they don't. But the situation may vary depending on what you want to consult with them. BIR offices have "officer of the day" who we can consult for free. Just be prepared when you go and meet with them. Understand what you need to ask; if possible, write your questions so you don't go around the bush. These people do meet and talk with a lot of people every day. So, just imagine the energy they need to address every concern that comes their way. Again, be prepared when you meet with them. They're approachable and kind. :)
